Blunt Wraps vs Rolled Joint: What's the Difference?

Explore the difference between blunt wraps vs rolled joints.

Marijuana is smoked in what seems like thousands of different ways. There are so many ways to consume cannabis now that even the most seasoned stoners can't keep up.

But sometimes all of the newfangled smoking methods in the world can't detract from the original ways. People who are new to cannabis might not be familiar with these methods, and we're here to clear up the confusion.

It seems unholy that a marijuana user wouldn't know what blunt wraps are, which is why it needs to be talked about. We're going to talk about the difference between joints and blunts.

Joint Papers vs Blunt Wraps: What's the Difference?

Both of these methods involve rolling and smoking marijuana to a degree. They are arguably the first and most common ways to smoke weed and should be mastered by any weed-loving individual.

Joints: the Archetypal Way to Smoke

The image of the "joint" is laced through popular culture in ways that have immortalized it as the standard way to smoke.

A joint is essentially a cigarette paper that is rolled with marijuana inside. It's very simple and only requires two ingredients: weed and papers. There's no filter required, and the process of preparing a joint can be completed with minimal skill.

With that said, it is kind of hard to do when you're first starting out. The person who can roll a great joint is a friend to hang on to. If you're interested in learning to roll joints, we recommend getting a pack of papers (they're cheap) and practicing over and over.

You'll quickly get to a point where it feels like second nature. It might do you well to have a tutorial or two in front of you before you start.

Blunts: Essentially Joints on Steroids

Blunts are marijuana rolled in cigar papers. Blunts aren't typically the size of cigars, although they can certainly get that big.

You may have to purchase some cigars and hollow them out to create "blunt wraps." Now, most tobacco stores and dispensaries help you out by offering pre-rolled blunt wraps.

These are typically rolled in such a way that makes it pretty easy to just insert weed, close off, and enjoy. That way, you don't have to waste tobacco and go through the process of blunt-rolling.

That said, you will earn a lot of respect if you can roll a decent blunt from a cigar wrap. That process is tricky and requires more time and effort. It's harder, in large part, because the stakes are high seeing as cigars are far more expensive than rolling papers.

Explore different methods and give it your best shot, though. The work will be well worth the reward.
